Spring swap question
To match my new cam, I'm swapping valve springs. The valve spring compressor seems to be cooperating, and I knocked out the first two no sweat. Now I'm stuck. I can't get the next valve to stay up (closed) while I push down on the compressed spring to get the locks out. Any way to do this other than air in the cylinder through the spark plug hole?

Try a thin piece of nylon cord, about 1/4" - 1/3" in diameter. Poke as much as you can in through the sparkplug hole. The cord will keep the valves from dropping down. You should also have that cylinder to top dead center.
