Well it's finally Fall in Dallas. Today I finally broke down, reinstalled my thermostat and opened up the heater valve for winter. The TPI didn't seem to like a cold engine the last couple of runs, it kept going into open loop and adding to much gas. I guess the only advantage is the few extra ponies you get from the colder dense air.
I guess you guy's up North are putting your babies to sleep for the winter.

Budman: If your O2 sensor is in the collector, it likes to go into open loop at low rpm. Even the heated sensors do this. There's just not enough exhaust heat to keep them going. You could try header wrap, but the only way to be sure it will work is to relocate the sensor into one of the primary tubes, abot 10" from the head.
Three more days before it goes into hibernation.
Its getting really cold, might have to put the t-tops in for the few last rides. Today I wore two sweat shirts and had the heater on high and I was getting real cold. But I absolutely refuse to put the tops in unless absolutely necessary!
Yeah, I went and bought a 180* stat today although I don't know that that's going to solve my problem. I have a 160* stat in there now, but the engine hasn't been able to climb to that mysterious mark we all think is 160*, halfway between 100* and 220*. Even with the 160* stat, it doesn't seem to get much above 130-150* . Can't figure it out. The temps are mid 70's during the day and low 60's at night. Maybe a higher quality 180* stat will help. Man, this winterizing SUCKS!!!
For how hot it gets inside the C3, I've had to turn the heater on a few times  We got a covering of snow here in Western Pa this past weekend but the white princess didn't see it since she just started her 6 month rest... :(
It's been cold here (since I'm in the mountains of Colorado, well...the Front Range). I really need to install my new heater core, but I'm dreading it, and I need a whole 3-day weekend to do it, I think.
