Default Change fuse box

I am going to re wire my car.
I am also thinking about changing the fuse box with a box that will take normal \ modern fuses.

Annyone who have done this?
Annyone knoe about a box that will be close to direct fit?
Annyone who have moved the fuse box, to a better location? (not exacly easy acsess now, Why in h... did thay place it there in the first olace.)

By the way: My car is a 73BB

I'm about to do something very similar, I've decided to go with an American Autowire Highway 22 fusebox. It does have the new, blade style fuses. No, it's not similar in size or # of fuses but if you are doing a complete rewire you might as well leave yourself some room to expand.

P.S. I will also be moving the box to the center rear compartment for easier access.

Keep this in mind when you do that Rab16, You will have to route some pretty heavy gauge wire to and from that fuse box for the Ignition switch, starter, aand main feed to the fuse block.
It would be easier and require less wire to mount the fuse block under the hood by the battery much like a newer model auto

I've been wanting to change to blade fuses myself, and have meant to check Painless to see if they have a box that might fit the C3.

Here's their link if you want to look into their line. http://www.painlessperformance.com/w...FRRbgQod4V2zvQ

Looks good. Going to do some searshing, and see if i can find something simular in norway.
I have seen one universa for small blade fuses. Anyone now if they have the same performance \ life, as normal sised blade fuses? (costs about 15 dollars.)

When you say 'rewire' what do you mean? What will you use for all the various and odd connectors that are part of the GM harness. Is this as complicated a job as it seems? I know people wire hot rods all the time but they're pretty simple compared to a Corvette.

Alan

I have bought a complete wire set from eckler. (still has not arrived.) I had the start of a fire under the dash, so i decided to change everything. I have used to much money on the car, to risk see it go up in flames.
When i am doing this, i guess i have to take the dash out. And i was evaluating to change to modern fuses, while i have easy axsess.

I hope the work not is to dificult, but i fear the worst.
