I want to move my shift point a little bit on my 200 4R. It upshifts a little too quickly when casually driving around town, (shifts up to drive and overdrive at real low rpms then lugs) and I could stand to step on it a little bit harder to get it to kick down during highway driving. Am I correct that I would move the outer TV cable sheath about 1/8" farther towards the front of the car to cure this? It's been awhile and I forgot which way to go.

I do not think you move the plastic sheath- but you rotate the cam on the throttle linkage you put on the carb (if you purchased the BTO TV system). I just cannot remember which way you rotate the cam.
I have accel DFI 1200 cfm throttle body. No cam on these. I changed the shift point by moving the cable when I put the fuel injection on, I just don't remember which way I went with it. I may have to do trial and error.
Been lookin at a 200r go to Bowtie overdrives click on your tranny they go into some real deep adjustment stuff how do you like it other than needing an adj?my 400 rumbling on full power take offs.( thats the best thing)
Justin, the direction to go is to move the SHROUD/outer shell of the cable to the REAR of the car...about 1/8 inch should do it....
the typical adjustment with a stock cable having that cube end on it, and the little thumbnail push lever is to push the lever and pull the cable all the way to the rear, then force the throttle to full open with engine off, from under the hood...THAT is supposed to be the correct position....I feel just 1/8 inch further back seems fine for my t-body and 200 4r......the things acts just fine....
Thanks Gene. I'm leaving for a 2000 mile weekend in the 81' in about an hour and still need to pack so I don't have much time for test driving. The first leg is only 200 miles so I'll adjust before I leave then if it needs a little tweak I can do it when I get there.
I don't have the factory black plastic cable anymore. When I went to the accel dfi Bowtie sent me a new stainless braided cable which matches the polished fuel rails and throttle body real nice, and a new spring to put under the TV valve. I will just need to loosen my jamb nuts and move them back an eighth.
I'm going on my wife and I's annual "vacation without the kids". www.blackhillscorvetteclassic.com Not that I don't love the kids, but a getaway without them for a weekend in the Corvette is a nice break once a year. I'm trying to make a good showing for the C3's. Last year there were only about 5 of us out of 500 or so cars.
