My experience with my 1979 has always been a rubber seal leak, tear, at the canister, at which point one side will come up or go down slower than the other. When both seals are "good" the headlights come up and go down together. Of course when one seal is completly shot one of the lights will not come up or down. That is with my stock engine (180 HP) , my 383 stroker (460 HP) has very little vacuum and the headlights come up unevenly even with new seals.

I had the same problem, I checked all the vaccum lines and finally found that it was out of adjustment. I found that it was locking open to far and it was binding. after adjusting them they work perfectly.

How did you adjust them cause that sounds like what its doing on my 77. i can go out and tap on it and it goes down all the time.

Ok lets see if I can explain, I got under the front and took the springs off then I took the connection to the pod off and loosened up the three bolts and aligned everything up, I had to readjust the rod from the pod. I also adjusted the limit bolts to opening and closing. one is right in the middle near the hinge. the other is to the side.

send me a private message and Ill call you to explain it better. if you want.
