ok, I'm looking at a 72 with a rusted frame and I have a good 74 frame so all the 72 brackets are there, just interested in swaping bare frame.

the last 12" to 14" has to be modified and the mouting holes for the chrome bumpers drilled. I'm doing these changes to use a 74 frame under my 73

I didn't do the work myself but my 68 has a modified 74 frame, so it can be done.

I honestly don't remember, it seems like it's been quite a while since I've had the vette out in that area but my memory isn't what it used to be either.
