Hi to everybody at vette forum, Just a couple of questions. Firstly what is the stock distributor on my 80 vette, it has a delco remmy on it now. Secondy the carby has been changed to a 650 holly, would this mess up my vacum advance, if so do i have to buy a different dizzy with a vacum addvance thank you for any help

The stock distributor is a GM HEI unit, a very good one although depending on milage it may need shimming, new springs, weights etc. The Holly carb would not be my pick, the Q-Jet is a better unit, but the holly should not ""Mess Up" your vacuume, timeing or anything else. There are a lot of threads in here on vacuume canisters, timing, tuning etc. You should go thru the timing sticky by Barry and Lars postings on vac cans and tuning your carb.

The stock distributor is the Delko Remy GM distributor. Changing the carb does not alter vacuum signal to the distributor - Holley carbs have ported and manifold vacuum ports, which produce the same signal as the same ports on any other carb. Suggest you use a manifold vacuum port on the carb for the distributor vacuum advance.
