Reverse Manual shifting
With a reverse manual shift setup, you need to press the shifter button down to to unlock the lockout, and to enable you to pull the shifter back/down to shift into 2nd.
Any one know of any means to bypass or remove the lockout, so as to eliminate the need to press the button to shift into 2nd?

Several ways, you could cut off the tang on the bottom of the shifter that locks it, put a tube in the shift arm to hold the button rod down, grind down the notch on the shift bracket that the tang catches in that gear just to name a few. But, they all require you to remove the shifter from the car.
