Poping out passenger side pipe??
I have a 69' BB side pipe car and have poping on Acceleration and deacceleration.. Collector bolts are tight and tighened the hedder flanges tight also..
Any one else ever have this problem??

I have a '79 with aftermarket pipes that does the same thing. It is more predominent when I accelerate hard and then let off. I didn't have it when I had straight dual exhaust... nothing else changed except for the side pipes and voila! I started hearing that. I did some research and it did indeed point to raw fuel that hits the hot exhaust and makes that sound. In my case I think it is too rich of a carb setup and not enough restriction. in the old days, bad points would do this. But, i cant imagine anyone still runs points, so i'll ask, what carb? is it the actual L88 carb or what? and when did this problem start, ie, did it run perfect, and then one day.....
