Default Steering Knuckle Part

I removed this part (looks like and oversized rivet almost) from my steering knuckle so I could send the knuckle to the powdercoater. But now I can't find this part in any of the corvette parts catalogs. Is it even really necessary to have this piece onthe steering knuckle? Where can I buy this piece?

On my C2 I dont have any plugs in my sterring knuckle. My tie rods are placed in this hole. The hole closer to the middle of the knuckle is for "quick Ratio Steering" and the one on the end is normal ratio, at lease per the 67 chassis manual.

It's just a plug so that the tie rod ends weren't put in the wrong holes.

Earlier C3s had either manual or power steering. Depending on which you had, the tie rod end would go into a different hole to change the steering ratio a bit. As long as you know which hole to put the rod in (no sexual innuendo implied here ) you are OK. Think of all the weight you will save by not replacing that rivet.

I know which hole it is supposed to go in, thanks guys. I guess I don't need to replace it after all.

Just an alluminum block off plug. I think I saw them in the Corvette Central catalog.
