PCV Question
I've read many posts on PVC. I thought I had my set-up correct but maybe not.
This photo was used to show the passages under the carb. My question is this, the carb base gasket cannot block these passeges correct? I used a gasket that only had bores for the 4 barrels. My gasket is covering these passages.

No base gasket will cover the venturi ports for the pcv, just the passage themselves. On a used carb, in the most severe case, the passages to the front tube can get clogged solid with oily carbon.
To test, with the engine running, pull the pcv valve from the valve cover and you will feel a decent vacuum if it is correct.

Those aren't "passages"...those are plugged manufacturing holes. However, different carb applications can require different carb gasket arrangements. Check the AIM for your car/engine to determine exactly which set-up you need.

First, you shouldn't be using the 4-hole base gasket - the correct gasket is the 1/4" thick open plenum gasket. But even if you use a solid 4-hole, you will not block the PCV vacuum - it will work fine.
