My 84 Corvette is in huge need of new carpeting and seat covers, and as well as new foam. Has anyone changed their seats or carpeting themselves and can tell me the difficulty involved? If not, does anyone know about how much it will cost in labor charges to have the carpeting changed at a store? Thank you.

I know up here your looking at 500$ to have your seats upholstered, and thats with you suppling the new skins and foam. I'm in the process of doing my seats as we speak, I find that its not a difficult job, takes a little time because theres no directions with the installation kits, and I bellieve they don't supply enough clips and hog rings, but those are easy to find locally.
My father-in-law did the carpet on his C4 ('91) and it took a while. Working on weekends alone it took about eight 6+ hours days to install. That doesn't include uninstall of the old carpet.
Just based on sheer square footage of carpet I would say you are looking at a tougher job than a C3 as there is like 50% more carpet in the C4 and the additional areas are tougher to deal with (underside of dash, etc.). Plus the carpet sits just under the edge of a lot of plastic that is tedious to remove/reinstall.
Just my 2 cents. The C4 forum will have a better answer.
