Default wrong radio

i have a 72 coupe project that i am putting together and am trying to get everthing in car working i bought a corvette radio 72/76 sterio? it has 6 wires coming out and my sterio box has 9 wire round plug is it adaptable or do i have a later radio can it be wired in or should i try to buy correct radio?

It seems the radio you got has the stereo amps built inside the it, as all the '74-'77 radios are, so basically you can just omit the stereo box and connect the right and left speakers directly to the radio.

thanks for the reply i will try that, it is definatly the easy route to go ,that way i can just plug and play, i wiil stop by my local corvette dealer and see if he can help out with the numbers that are on the unit,appreciate the help ,artie
