Carb return spring on a '70

gotta tell this story: when I was a kid, my dad had a '67 Chrysler Newport (think "tank"). Anyway, he drove up to the auto parts store (ironically) and while he was in the store, the return spring broke. He didn't know this of course, so when he started it up, it shot to full throttle (if you saw the 2X4 gas pedal on this car, you'd understand why it went to full throttle without any help). He didn't realize what was happening in that short amount of time and instinctively threw it into reverse. By the time it found reverse, it was taching-full...and out comes the drive shaft! He walked home with drive shaft in hand... He can laugh about in now.
