Hi all
If I make the conversion on a C3 from carb to TPI, what all parts are needed to make the conversion? Is hood clearance an issue? This will be for a 1975.

Thanks

There is a lot of information on this subject and you'd be a lot better off just doing an advanced search for TPI in the C3 Tech and Gen section.

DB is correct, do a search....tons of info that way...

short form answer is plenty of hood clearance IF you use the oval air cleaner from K/N and a speed density system....yo want to use a MAF sensor, that adds to plumbing problems....

either way, It's about a bolt on....

I put the computer up under the map pocket on my '72....but surely there are other locations.....

I did my own wiring harness, but I'm an old ET, so soldering a wire is easy....

Hood clearence should be no problem. Its a pretty easy job, I did the same modification to my 81. You can try ebay or the For sale section here. Make sure to get a as complete system as you can, the small parts was my down fall. Street and performance can make custom harness. ecm, chips. Do some good research.

Here is a thread I posted on the conversion on my '78. It is almost a bolt on, and there is alot of info here on the forum, and around the net. The TPI system I used is from an '88 Z-28 Camaro.

There are a couple of good books on TPI swaps available. Barnes & Noble or Borders should have them in stock, or you can get them through amazon.com.

Hood clearance is no problem. Do an advanced search on my username and TPI. I have posted a "primer" for TPI install in C3 with what parts are needed. I have 2 running myself, several more installs for others, and am very happy with them. Happy to answer any questions.
