I have a '74 quadrajet with divorced choke and would like to convert to an electric pulloff. Seems with my new aluminum manifold the old coil-based pulloff is taking very long time to warm up. Anyway, these guys sell a kit to replace the old coil on the manifold with an electrically operated unit:

The system works fine. The only thing you have to consider is that those electric choke units are designed for use on a stock manifold. The aftermarket manifolds often have a different height between the choke mounting area and the mounting surface for the carb, making the choke rod length a problem - you may have to install a custom length rod depending on your manifold.

Thanks Lars! I won't mind doing that if necessary. My Weiand manifold seems to have the mounting pad at the right height, but no problem if not.

I put one on my '69 about a month ago and it works good.
I had the same problem. I had changed to an Edelbrock Performer intake and used the gaskets with the exhaust crossover blocking plates and my choke was taking forever to come off.
The only thing to look out for, as someone stated is that these units are designed for the stock intake and the mounting requires some work.
I had to fab up a custom mount for mine to fit the Performer manifold.

Yes. It's a regular round electric choke (1980 Q-Jet style) that has been mounted to a mounting bracket that interfaces with the screw hole in the manifold. The photo in the web page does not clearly show the mounting bracket on the back of the round choke. A rod has been fabricated to slip into the heat spring in the choke. It's a little crude, but it does work...
