just put my passenger side door on my 71 t-top. It is lined up pretty good but the striker bolt on the body is not long enough. I put washer on it to make it work but it looks like crap. Also the back part of the door edge seems to be sticking out some from the body. Striker bolt is all the way in (towards interior). Any help with aligning door would be greatly appreciated.
Is the car one the ground or on stands? Do this on the ground as the body tends to flex causing trouble with aligning things like door strikers or hood locks when done in an up position. After you put the car back down they don't want to open/close/release.

The factory had washers the same size as the back of the stricker bolt and they were used on Corvettes as needed. I picked up some stricker bolts and washers from the back doors of four door cars in the scrap yard with very little wear.

It is on the ground. gap is good in the back and a little wide up front. I can't seem to see why striket
bolt is to short
Most of the bolts have one or more washers on Corvettes. They do make the stricker bolts in different lengths so if it has been replaced anything can happen.
