70 Power window Problem
I figure that it is either the switch, wiring, or a relay?
The service manual doesn't show a schematic for this circuit. In the door section is does have an illustration for what looks like the wiring harness, switch, and some sort of wiring connection at the front of the console.
The switch will be easy enough to check out. How about the relay? Also, is the switch and/or relay still availalble? Anybody know which manual the schematic is actually in?
Thanks for the help
Bob

My problem turned out to be a broken wire where the door opens.
Hope this helps, Pete.

Bob,
I just had the exact same problem that you describe. Mine turned out to be the wiring as well. It is 14ga wire from the switches to the window motor. It is fairly easy to fix but, of course, you have to have the door panel off as well as the inside kick panels to get to the wiring that goes through the door conduit. I went to Home Depot and bought 3 ft of each color wire (I went ahead and did both doors). I made the splices in 2 places, one inside the car where it goes through the conduit and the other closer to the window motor. This allowed me to take out most of the older wire and especially the wire that was inside the conduit. For the splices, I bought the butt connectors (i think that is what they are called) and stripped both ends of the wire, placed it in the connector and crimped them with a crimping tool. I used some solder and covered that with heat shrink.... Hope this helps.
If it is 14 ga wire, they probably they don't use a relay as that is pretty hefty size wire and will carry the current for the motor.
I'll check the switch but will go after the wire.
Bob
