Install an auxillary junction block next to the alternator like the one MAD offers, Jeg's has one with two posts. There's nothing that says you can't have two distribution points.
Anyone know the jegs part# I can't find it I
like the 2 post type
thanks
If I want to run a 6 guage wire directly from the alternator to the starter terminal 0 guage positive battery wire, what fuse amp rating should I use near the starter? 60amps or more like 100amps?

I thought I read on another link that I needed to put a 'resistor' on the alternator when coverting to a cs144? Is this true? If so, is it the brown wire and how much resistance is needed? The guy at the alternator shop told me today that I dont need one.

Do you have an idiot-light or a gauge on your dash? You don't need a resistor if you have a light, although you could wire one in to protect your alternator in case the light burns out.
when i spliced the new connector into my harness (lectric limited) to fit the cs type alternator, i noticed that one of the wires was not copper, but a stiff silver color. i believe that it is a resistance wire needed to create the voltage drop to make the alternator excite properly.

OK, so Brown wire to the "L" connector on the alternator plug and also, putting a 33 ohm resistor on this same wire since I have the voltage gauge. May work on it later today, so thanks for the help all.

Just because you have a gauge doesn't mean that you don't have a light. Is there a "GEN" light in your center cluster?
OK, didn't think about that. I looked and it looks like it has been disconnected. I installed an aftermarket voltmeter a long time ago. Would having a resistor AND the idiot light be a problem?

Shouldn't be. I've heard of a number of people including a resistor as a backup in case the light burns out.
I kind of like having the light there - instant "heads up" notice that something is acting up.
