I need a link to a part. It's an oil pressure switch used to cut power to an electric fuel pump in the event of a failure of some kind. It simply mounts to an oil port and cuts power to the fuel pump if the oil pressure drops below a certain point.
I am having trouble finding a link to this part and was thinking some of you may have a link or know a manufacturer of a good reliable part for this kind of application.
I would think you could use a "Hobbs switch". They are available in different set points and can be fine tuned by removing the small rubber plug on the end and turning the allan key in or out depending on what you want. The nitrous guys use these to kill the nitrous solenoid activation in the event of a fuel pump failure.
I had a '73 Vega (embarrassed to say) which had an oil pressure switch that would shut the engine down in the event of oil pressure loss. Not sure if this is of help or not but this was a factory installed switch.
I just went to Hobbs web site. They are made for air, motor oil, jet fuel, transmission oil and other hydrocarbon media. I bought mine at NAPA. You need the 76575 Hobbs switch. Factory set at 4 psi. Can be adjusted from 3.1 to 7psi. It is a normally open switch.....meaning it closes the two contacts at above the set pressure. They are about $35. PM me ....I can get you one for for much less.

As per Vs suggestion I started looking for GM specific oil pressure switches and think I found it. It's a switch that threads into the oil passage port at the back of the block next to the distributor. It's a long black switch, with a three prong plug port.
Ironically, I have one in the garage from a '96 motor and I am sure it's correct. I think it's got about 200K factory miles on it so I will find a replacement but it looks like it'll work just fine.
Now I need to find a pig tail for the plug port and then I need to find a factory wiring diagram to aid in the wiring between it, the relay, and the fuel pump.

Highly recommend running a relay to take the current draw off of the switch. I bought this one.... $29.95
Painless safety switch for oil pressure cutoff switch 50102 http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku
I have both extra but promised my pops could have them when I ended up switching from electric to the mechanical RacePump.
I would consider running a 90 degree fitting from the block to the switch or if you have the oil filled mechanical oil pressure gauge to run a "T" fitting off the block, one end for the gauge fitting and one end for the cutoff switch...if your using the oil port near the clutch boss.
I use this switch on my TPI setup. It is a dual function switch (three wire). This is the factory switch for the 1990 Corvette fuel injection system that I'm using on my car. It is used for the fuel pump and oil pressure. GM#10201491. Terminal "D" (red wire) on the connector is the power in to the switch. Terminal "C" (orange wire) is the power out of the switch. The other two terminals (A and D) will not be used if you are just needing this for a safety fuel pump cutoff. The cheapest place to find these pig tails is at a salvage yard. They are very common.

I just looked up the GM #10201491 switch at AC Delco. It was used from 1988 till 1998. It was used on Corvettes from 89 till 96. The Grand Prix, Cutlass and other midsized cars used it as well. The salvadge yard will be full of this type of connector. Also note that these cars used the weather proof ECM as found in the 90/91 Corvettes. They can be had for about $20.
My 1990 Factory service manual states that this switch closes at 4 psi......just like the Hobbs switch I mentioned earlier.

I'm confused. You say it's a 3 prong connector yet specify four wires, A - D.
I'm looking through salvage yards right now for the pigtail and will be using the factory color code to figure out the wiring.
It is a three prong pig tail...but it has four cavities. The fourth one was never cutout. The other (third wire) is for the oil pressure. I believe it is brown.....looking at my setup.
