I Am Putting Together My Steering Now. And Need Help.
When I Bought The Car It Was Appart And Not Very Well Cataloged. My Question; With My Steering Box Bolted In The Steering Shaft From The Steering Wheel Does Not Line Up.(at An Angle)
I Found 3 Groups Of Taped Together Heavy Duty Shims Marked Top, Bottom And Front. They Are All Of A Different Size.
Do These Go In To Shim The Steer Box To Meet The Steer Shaft? I Placed Them In And The Box Lined Up. Just Want To Make Sure.
George - if the steering shaft does not line up with the steering box input shaft, it is adjusted by adjusting the column. Loosen the 2 bolts at the plate on the column and the 4 bolts on the interior column mount. Align the shafts by moving the column left or right. Adjust the up & down at the firewall.
