loose horn button

loose horn button
the horn contact assembly keeps coming loose. Those cheap plastic rivets that hold the two pieces together keeps pushing through and cause the button to be a little loose and rattle. Has anyone had this issue with that part, and has any one come up with a way to keep it tight? I thought I no one had an answer, I would just use metal rivets or maybe even JB weld the two pieces together near the holes. but thought there might be an easier solution first

hey, just went through the same thing, you cant use metal or the horn will blow,it must be insulated with plastic, the jb weld will work for a few days then it'll be loose again, i went to lowes, (or home depot)and bought some plastic screws and nuts and used loctite blue on them. then trim the end of the screw off, they're ususally too long. working great so far.

My 75 has been driving me nuts with this. After reading this thread I took it apart and saw that 2 of the 3 rivets were broken. Swapped in another set of plastic rivets from another steering wheel and now no more noise.
