On my '69 I mounted the MSD box behind the dash panel on the passenger side. Pretty easy installation that way and it's invisible to view.

I put my 6AL behind the front grill, just in front of the A/C condenser. Open the hood and look down from the front, I had the space there. Made a flat plat and mounted with the rubber feet. I thought about the passenger interior, behind the map pockets, but that 6AL makes a bit of noise, and I didn't want that.
KidVette, nice job on your install. Looks good, I got a big block, not quite that much room. (different subject) I had to install my XM receiver under the passenger seat!

Kid Vette's is a nice, clean install, but I think I have a big vacuum tank where he's mounted it........
When I did my research on the Forum, there were some issues with heat affecting the box, so I declined to mount it on the dash firewall or inside the cabin......
.....so with a BB and not altering the supplied wiring, it seemed the best place to mount it was on the passenger inner fender above the control arm.....
.....my bracket is similar to Kid Vette's, but it's shaped to the inner fender......

Think about putting it in the storage bin behind the pass. seat. Have had mine there for 7 years, close to battery for power, wire under console to dist is hidden, no misfires, no heat probs, etc..

Standup, as with all wiring extensions, solder the connections and heat shrink the open wires. So, yes I extended the stock AL wires to reach where they needed to reach. As for behind the passenger side map pocket, no way for me. No offense to those of you that did, but no way for me. I didn't even think of placing it behind the passenger's seat because of the battery being connected to that compartment. I don't run a regular battery also, just for that reason. I don't want those explosive fumes behind me, I run an Optima battery, period. I'm sure I'll get a few rocks thrown at me for my comments, I'm 51 and been doing this since I was 10 years old. My 1st Corvette was in 1975, it was a 1965 327/375 FI and I was 19 at the time.I am a crew chief on 2 cars (depends on who races that night) that both run 8's in the 1/4 mile.
