I say no because the white numbers were 72-73 or 74 only. The 71's still had the green characters.

'71 has a green numbers, not white like the '72 and later. Also it has 249 miles already, its supposed to be new.

Did you read the ad?
This has never been mounted in a car, is brand new from NOS dealer stock, and it came from the factory with the mileage shown on the speedo for testing purposes.

Default new speedometer

When I bought a new speedometer for my 70 in 1975 from GM it did not have any test mileage showing on the odometer, just all zeros. The facing had white numbers. Real easy to change to my green numbered one.

I had a 69 Z/28 with a speed minder system. I changed the wiring to trigger a 100hp N2O system to get an initial delay to keep traction on my Z. It worked pretty well as I won quite a few street races in the summer of 1978 with my Z.

For some reason I don't think that was its intended use!
