Default Oil pan mounting bolts

Hi. What is the proper torque specs for oil pan bolts on a small block? Haynes sez (if I recall) 80 ft-lbs for the small ones and 165 (!) for the bigger two on the front. This seems really high to me. Thoughts?

That's in-lbs. You have to use an in-lb torque wrench.

Is it wrong to assume that you can divide the in-lb figures by 12, and use a ft-lb wrench?
ie. 80 in-lb spec = 6 or 7 ft-lbs?
I guess not too many wrenches could be that accurate anyway
