Cruzmeister
I can attest to the appropriateness of his handle. I'm on his mailing list and he e-mails me every show, cruise, benefit, parts swap, flea market, county fair, fund raiser dog and **** fight on the east coast!
It's been quite Cruz! Have you been heibernating already?
I managed about 10 this year usually dragging the family kicking and screaming.

1970 Stingray/Len: NOTHING happened since 11/1 @ Jaden's (#187); I'm having TURRIBLE withdrawal pains!! :)
"PinkLinc" went into bud's shop 2 weeks ago for off-season engine work (no more clouds of blue smoke, oil drips...and I'm stuck with 5 quarts of 20W50!)
Keep on Cruisin' Ron/Cruz
Well the year was 1980. I was just born and my dad found a gold mine while I was being born. So they named the mine "Golden80" and also gave me that nickname. My parents became very wealthy from this goldmine. They drove Ferrari's and Lamborghini's. I grew up in a house that was 10,000 square feet on 50 acres of land in Southern Italy. And I had a ton of cool stuff! Tiffany (that pop singer) was my girlfriend. I had two houses in the US. One in California next door to Axl Rose and one in KY. I used to help Axl write music when he was too tired and had OD'd on heroin. (I actually wrote Paradise City!) I had championship thoroughbreds raised on my ranch in KY and won many races!
But then in 1995 we had used up all of our gold from "Golden80" (remember? the mine?) and had too much debt to handle. So we moved to Littleton, CO and made up a story so people wouldn't recognize us and try to collect on our $1 billion tax write offs.
And then I got a Corvette and joined the Corvette Forum and thought that I should use my family nickname as my alias.
Well, how much more uncreative can you get. I have a 1979, Mako after the body design, and it's an L82. I do wish I was more creative, and I've thought about just shortening it to 79Mako. I really ought to do that.
I've been a concert audio engineer for decades. When you go to a live concert or show, I'm that guy on the platform near the back with all the electronic equipment; i.e. the "soundguy".
I have had my nic for a few years now. I needed something that I could use all over the internet with a good chance that noone else would have used and that I would remember. At the time I was a big Alfa Romeo fan ( I used to have a 1975 Alfa Romeo Spider) and I decided I would use an Alfa model name:
Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider = ar2600 see here for pictures of the model http://freespace.virgin.net/andrew.m...r/gallery.html
As a side note: After many years of happy Alfa motoring I just needed something with more anger in the motor. The logical choice that would match the curveyness in my mind of an alfa spider but with a v8 was a stingray.
Uh...

PS: Though I do use bokonon a lot but for some reason wasn't planning on sticking around here too long (as the story goes). My server, though, retains the http://www.bokonon.net handle though and I use it just about everywhere I plan on sticking around.
Well Check it out, I have two favorite hobbies. Cars, AND Rock n Roll. In the car sector my favorite happens to be Corvettes, namely C3's which we somtimes refer to as sharks. Then there was that whole Aerovette concept and I thought it was a pretty cool piece of heritage so took a spin off of that name, Aeroshark for one more reason. As far as rock n roll goes there is no better band than Aerosmith, they keep me moving so there you go Aerosmith, Corvette, Aerovette, Shark, Aeroshark!!!! Its really a train of thought
I fall into that "non-creative-with-the-name-because-I-didn't-think-I-would-be-here-long" catagory. Maybe one day I'll change it(perhaps when I buy a C3 'vert... :D ).
