now when i went to have my system put in, i had it done by TC Audio out of benton, AR. theyve won lost of competitions and trophies yadda yadda yadda. when it was all said and done i ended up with 1 10 inch diamond audio sub powered by a D.A. Amp, 2 6 1/2 planet audio in the back and 2 P.A 4x6 in the front all 4 amped by a RF amp i had laying around (i forgot the wattage on the amps, but i know they are pretty good) now, the system sounds great but i believe i can get it a whole lot louder and better. the guys who did the system told me it would be "overkill" by far. what do u guys think? would adding 1 more 10 and 2 more speakers (the spots for speakers in the dash by the front window are empty) be that much overkill? what are you guys running for those who have systems?
Adding a sub is not far fetched at all. However, adding two more speakers in the dash will kill the stage you have now. Those waves go straight up, bounce off of the glass, and come at your face with one degree of deflection. Adding those speakers will probably make it sound like you have one less pair and a couple screeching monkeys playing behind your dash.
The reason is called cancellation. The reason the sound waves from the dash speakers and other speakers cancel each other is called being out of phase. You have four speakers right now that fire directly at your listening area, called a stage. The dash speakers would bounce once first off of the glass before they get to you, putting them out of phase with the waves from the other four speakers. when they collide at the stage in your listening area they cancel each other out.
I say yes to the second sub...let me know if you need help with a dual sub box, and I say no to the extra speakers.
