Derale Cooler Pan
I bought one for my TH350. It doesn't clear the filter at all. The rails leave about 1/8th to 1/4 inch gap. Derale is saying try a different filter or a thicker gasket. They are saying I have a deep valve body. I tried it on 2 other th350s---both of which supposedly had "normal" valve bodies. I don't know how to tell the difference. This was for my truck motor. My vette has a th350 and all three of the others I have had the pan off of look the same as my vette tranny.
Anybody put one of these on, maybe have some insights on a low profile filter (how the hell that can get smaller, I don't know), or some key measurements? Repeated googling gets me NO results on the fabled "deep valve body." I'm not getting much help out of derale or the dealer who sold it to me. I bought it on ebay and paid with paypal. I currently have it listed on ebay, because I don't want to hit the seller with a chargeback. It is not really his fault that derale made, IMO, a defective product. That's a last resort.
