Default road race clone progress. pics.

I never get around to posting pics. I know alot of you like to see projects as they come along. Here are a few pics of the body this morning before and after priming for the first time. Now the body will get put in another building and I will start taking the chassis apart. The 540 is being built as I am typing this. The chassis the fun part for me. [IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

That last pic looks very mean with the hood. Keep the pics coming because you are right, we like to watch the progress.

Or have you checked with PS Engineering? I can't find their website anymore but they advertise in kit car magazines. They sell custom vintage type rims in 15-17" with any back spacing, bolt pattern, and even true knock off designs. It's a small operation, but the service was top notch. I placed the order and a week later I had the wheels.

They used cast centers welded to spun aluminum outer sections. Here's a bad picture of mine without the centers installed ... their 17" versions.

Yes I know Phil at PS Eng. He has made me two sets of Grand sport wheels and a set of kidny beans for my 60. I am going to call him in the morning and order the Minilites. 10x15 rear 8x15 fronts

Great looking project. I look forward to seeing more photos. What are you running suspension wise?

Mostly stock. I going to change the front upper control arms for more caster. I'm keeping the power steering due to the increase in caster. The rear is getting adjustable strut arms and half shaft loops. I'm also going to use Guldstrands trailing arm adjustable bolt setup instead of the PIA factory shims. I'm going to leave the stock ft and rear sway bars. The car is a big block car. I'm also going to weld all the frame seams and gusset it by the Chevy power book instuctions. I already had a four point roll bar made for the car but it is removable. I can not see building a car that can't come apart. The 540 and richmond 5 speed should move the car pretty good so I want it to handle the best it can and still keep the old stock look.
