Do I still need to order camber bolt hardware as well or should these struts alone be all I need to do the job? I asume the adjustable part of these things takes the place of the camber bolt hardware but am not sure about that.
I am at the first stage of diagnosing a rear tire camber issue with my '79. I am fairly certain the bushings are worn out on my original strut rods and I would like to go with adjustable to get away from camber bolts. If I still need camber bolts I'm just going to order bushings for my old ones.
I hope that fixes the problem... the next stage would involve tearing out my rear end and I'd rather not do that unless necessary.
Those look like they have the square lock plate system that replaces the cam bolts.
Those have the square lock plate and are adjusted with the lock nuts and center adjuster similar to front tie rods. The smart struts will lower your inside mounting point 1 inch to reduce camber changes. Keeps your tires planted across tread throughout suspension travel.
What advantages does this have over the ones that I was originally looking at?
Th center bracket comes a bit lover and thanks to that no camber angle movement in practise happens after that relocation. -/+ 2.5 alltogether 5 degrees in stock bracket setup...
