Default 69 Fiber Optics

I recently recieved some great information on getting my optics to work. The problem if that they are so dim that they are very hard to see. Is there any way to make them brighter maybe with a different bulb or are the fibers themselves just worn. Thanks

The way to make fiber optics brighter are as follows:

Clean the ends near the bulbs
Replace or polish any lenses near the bulbs
Use larger diameter fiber optics for any repairs
Use machined press fit sleeves to make any splices
Replace or polish the lenses in the cab
Clean the ends near the in cab lenses
On headlights install dust tubes to keep those light transmission points clean
Make sure the headlight vacuum nubs are free of paint, adhesives, etc (sometimes they come with black paint or dye on them).

Even when the cars were new the fiber optics were hard to see during the day. They never shown as brightly as a bulb would. At night they just sort of glowed. They were neat because people didn't know what they were back then.
