I've got a '76 (small-block) daily driver and was wondering what others recommend for a "comfortable" ride as far as SHOCKS can give.
I seem to replace them every few years, although they probably should have been replaced EVERY year. All have performed well for 6 months or so, then seem to take a crap!
I've tried:oEM (Delco) for small and BIG blocks, KYB (including the "special" ones made by Vette Brakes for the fiberglass leaf spring) and possibly Monroe (it's been awhile). What's the best bang-for-the-buck? Has Edelbrock made the EAS(?) for the C3 yet?
I have been using a set of Tokico gas shocks for a long time. They seem to be holding up well. I read about them in a Corvette Fever magazine article about C3 suspension improvement. I don't know enough about shocks to offer any sound advice other than, "this is what I'm using and they seem to work well".
Here’s a link to their web site. http://www.tokicogasshocks.com/index.html
I have a lightly used set of Tokicos for sale. I changed to Bilsteins when I changed to fiberglass springs but the Tokicos were fine with steel springs.
Contact me at will_shepherd@hotmail.com if interested.
I highly recommend Bilsteins. I had mine for over 8 years and to this day, they are in like-new condition. The quality of each component part is outstanding.
