Hi,

Has anyone had any clearance problems with the vinatage air unit and their stereo? I bought a new pioneer and the back bumps the blower. The stereo only goes in on an angle with a .5 in exposed on the bottom. Not horrible but I really wanted this to look clean.

I don't know what the back of your Pioneer looks like but I also had a very tight fit with Alpine CD head unit. I got it to fit but had to gently work it back in there against/under the thick black plastic Vintage Air housing. The plastic CD adapter housing for the center bezel would not hold the Alpine in place so I used a small black tie strap in the center that did the trick securing it all in place. At first I noticed it for about a week but now it never crosses my mind.



btw...be sure you re-locate the thermistor or ask them if yours already has been updated. The updated location is more towards the firewalls vs. towards the map pocket side. I had trouble with the coils freezing over and so they sent me updated directions on where to re-locate it so it would not do this but it looks like a real PITA to get exactly right measurements with the unit installed in the car as I can't see how you are suppose to get those measurements correctly after its installed. Something I need to work on with them this Spring as I can't see how its possible to do this measuring correctly without taking the unit out.
