Does anyone out there have a picture or diagram on body mount #4. I'm trying to to see if the gap at the top of the driver's door is do to shims missing on the mount or something else. I would assume that if this is the case I could fix the gap by adding shims. Thanks
I had problem with that also. But first check the door hinges and adjustment. If that is not the problem, My gap was actual the frame. Pick up the back corner of the car and if the gap closes you may have a problem with the frame behind the drivers door. I hope your problem is not like mine. I pulled the body off to repair. Shims can be added to the mount behind the left rear tire but it is not easy to get the bolt out. If you get it loose try to get the shims that are U shaped. But if it is the frame it is only a temporary fix. Oh, to your original qestion. Mount #4 is a simple bolt on the bottom with a nut in the body that is held in place with a box like holder over the nut. If the bolt just spins the nut hold down is broken. You will have to be inavative on holding the nut on the top or simply cut the bolt of. If you have not started then make sure you spray the bolt with a good rust lubricant and work the bolt back and forth to try to get it out. Good luck JK
Was anything done recently that would have changed the gap like raising the car on jack stands? Any vette convertible that I have owned will gap at the top while on jack stands even with a good solid frame, but if it doesn't go back when you lower the car back on to the wheels , you probably have an issue with a weak frame.
Siko,
From what have I've learned, this would be a case for increasing the shims on body-mount #4 and decrease the shims on #3. My concern would be to try and determine what happened to cause this.

Alan
