Default Interior insulation....

Does anyone have a template to cut insulation properly. I bought some of that rolled up heat insulation from Lowes and would like to cut it properly. Thanks Oh, sorry, 1970.

I don't think you need a template. Just lay the insulation in the interior and cut it to fit as you go. No one will see it anyway once the carpet is installed. This is how I did mine and it worked fine.

Start with covering ALL the area of the center tunnel down to the floor level; then do the firewall...up as far as you can get. Stick it down with spray adhesive [sprayed on the insulation pieces and dried till tacky] and seal junctions with sticky-backed aluminum foil furnace tape. To fit odd-shaped pieces, just cut a piece in approximately the same shape, but larger, then put it in place and use scissors to trim to final shape. Spray adhesive on back side, then put in place. Keep your pieces to a manageable size; trying to make a single piece fit to a large area gets you nothing but grief. Do all of the cabin back to, and including, the vertical panel behind the seats. And make sure you cut access holes for the bolts/screws that will need to be reinstalled.

Lay out the pieces and trim to fit. Reflectex cuts with scissors. Then just use spot squirts of adhesive to hold it in place. Don't spray the whole thing or it will never come off. Trimming in place is easier than using a template.

Thanks everyone. Just goy back in from the garage. I did as suggested, layed it out and cut as I went. I was very stingy with the spray glue just incase it has to be removed down the road. Man I love this stuff, it's thin and molds into place without a bunch of wrinkles. Again, thanks!

Sounds like the same stuff I used all though I got it at Home Despot. Very nice to work with.
