Is your goal to achieve some more compression? Are you looking for a particular thickness? Is this for cast or aluminum heads. The standard bore is 4.0"
I am going to put a thinner one in there to get the compression up. To be honest i have no idea which head gasket to get. I am getting brodix ik180s, For example the bore measurement that is on the gasket, any suggestions?
You can't go wrong with the GM head gasket, P/N 10105117, .028" with stainless steel faces for aluminum heads. Its what is used on the GM crate engines with al heads. Nice pick on the IK180's!
You spent the big bucks for a good set of Brodix heads- you might be advised to call them for a recommendation on a head gasket before you bolt them to the block. Hope they work out good for you.
First find out how far your piston sit below the deck, probably .025 but if you check, you'll know for sure, if you need .015 thick head gasket so you have .040 qwench which is what you want. Then figure out how many CC's you pistons are dished so you can can order the right combustion chamber heads. You don't want to go over 9.5:1 with iron heads or 10.5:1 with aluminum on a street engine. Now start pulling your engine apart and make the measurement needed, so we can give you accurate advice on the parts you'll need for this build.
