About to pull the trigger on a new gas tank for my frameoff, and want to double check my selection. I am not doing a NCRS frameoff, just want the correct application for a fuel return line set-up on passenger side. I am going to order GM-33E, correct? Car is a 1971 roadster, on a beautiful 1973 rustfree southern frame. Anything else I should look at before ordering?
Any info is appreciated!
Glad I asked, what is the "plastic vapor valve", and what is its function. The tank I am replacing, has an outlet tube on drivers side, but I thought that it was to accomodate the EEC system, and was not necessary on a new tank if not putting EEC back on car. Please fill me in!
I agree that 33D is likely the correct one.
The EEC vent valve attaches to the drivers side of the tank
and then connect to the charcoal canister in the engine
compartment. The valve used to be unavailable, but now
can be bought as reproduction. I would consider either
plugging the vent outlet and using a vented gas cap.
You could also go with the 33E tank (no EEC outlet) and
a vented cap.
