Yep, especially if you ave invested money in a nice aluminum radiator it's even more important to remember that you need to use distilled water instead of normal tap water.
Problem is, what do you do with the old antifreeze. Noone around here will take it.
I live in Palm Beach County, FL and they have a waste facility that takes about anything, including AF. Call your local waste collector and they should be able to point you in the right direction.
And don't forget to drop the block drain plugs too. That gets rid of the substantial amount of water that remains in the low point of the block.

Good call. I installed the same kind of drain valves as would go in the radiator, in my block. I just get under there, open the valves, and the little stream of coolant is easy to catch with a pan with no drips or splashing.

DB,
You drive me CRAZY. Do you stay up at night thinking up ways to make your car non-stock? Come on give me a break, you need to put some kind of code in your replies so I know which ones to skip!!!

Alan

PS: You DID teach me how to post photos.
Just put me on your ignore list. (Takes me about five minutes to drain my block and close it all up again, with no mess.)

Any parts store. The bore in the block is the same as the bung in the radiator, so any radiator drain will work. They also put them in the bottom on air compressor tanks. Same size too.

If you go to a marine store and get the drain ***** for a marine engine the center part of the plug will come out if need be. It comes in handy if the block accumulates rust or sediment you can remove the center and rod it out with a piece of wire.
