This may be a long shot, but does such a thing exist? The vette in question is a 1980, but I swapped the tranny with a 700 R4 from a 91. Is there any kind of paddle shift setup out there?
You would need some sort of controller which sequenced the ranges you select from the up/down paddles. It has to 'know' what range it should be in to start what each paddle is intended to do. You can't just hook paddle switches up to the tranny and get it to work. Check the internet for "paddle shift controllers" for the 700r and see what comes up. Share what you find out with the rest of us. Good hunting!
Yes. it exists... I saw at the Pomona swap meet a company that had developed a system that would retrofit paddle shifters to manual trannies...their bench model was a tremec tko.
It was slick as all get out i gotta say. I only presume that such a thing might exist for automatics since thats got to be a whole ton easier to implement.
