Default need help with pedal response

The vette has been put together and running for several months although I only have about 200 miles on her. There is a few questions I need to ask though. For one, she is over heating and I think I know why. She is leaking anit-freeze by the thermastat housing. So either I accidently have the thermastat upside down (not sure how that could have happened  ) or the thermastat is faulty. If it is the right side up, I'm going to try a lower degree thermastat.

My second question is more serious. Right from the get go, if i try to punch it, its like it hesitates for a second or two before it really wants to start going. Is there a way that I can adjust the carb or something so that I can get an improved throttle response? Thanks in advance.

You need to check with lars on the stumble... but i'm going to take a guess here, that you are to lean on the secondaries... not sure if i'm correct but thats what it ussually is, at least in my case.

Accelerator pump adjustment? What kind of carb are you running?

I'd get somebody to look over for you, and walk through some issues that your setup may be having. It could be any number of things.

1. Is your throttle cable tight and does it open the carb 100%
2. Are there any vacuum leaks
3. Fuel filter new
4. Ignition timing?
5. Choke setting too rich?

Are you running the stock Q-Jet? Or do you have a Holley...? If you tag me back with some info, i can give you a few things to check.

All is stock. The only thing that isnt either new or rebuilt under the hood is the carb.
