Hi. Bought a pair of headers on Ebay, type unknown, they are new and cromed. After mounting one of them on the drivers side, I am not able to enter the spark plug for syl. nr. 1, seems like the pipe is too close. Anaybody who have experienced this??
What year car? engine size? angle plug heads? Can you take a picture of the headers and post it? How about filling out your profile.
O.k. will do my profile. The car is a is a 78, L82, original heads. Witk the headers I don´t know, no producers name given, bought them new on ebay for 129 bucks. The problem, as far as I can see, is that the spark plug seem to be some conflict with the pipe at sylinder nr. 1. I´m using AC rapidfire plugs, think they are a bit longer than standard, but that shold not affect the angle. Will post pictures, but this week I´m out of town working, so it must be next weekend.
When I put the Hedmanns on my car I went to the shorty plugs, it makes a world of difference on installing them.
O.k., then I will just try some short plugs, maybe that is the problem. My new rapidfires, sendt half the world around, will end up in the drawer. Are there some specific brands/types that are short?
I am running the Accel U grove 872S in my 78 L82. I got them from Summit. I am sure there are several other brands out there. If its that tight you may want to check into some kind of heat sleeve also. Mine didnt really need it but I feel better now. Pay no attention to the nasty intake, the new one is on the shelf ready to be installed, I just wanted to make sure everything was ticking first.
That looks real good!! I´l mail summit today and order the new plugs and the heat sleeves. Then I will install a new Edelbrock performance intake too, and that will be all before this summer season..
Thanks for the response!
