Default 72 BB water pump question

Car info. 72 BB with a/c
While under my car, checking out how i'm going to go about removing the exhaust manifolds to put the AIR system back on. Shout out to Bill Hodel. (yes plugs are frozen). Soaked with PB blaster all week
So going to have to take manifolds off to heat out plugs. Pass side looks fun with A/C unit there.
OK, back to original subject.
I notice on the lower radiator hose and water pump. A dark, thick molasses type substance. This substance was not visable from top of motor. I do not see any fluids around the harmonic balancer nor timing chair corver. Any idea?. Is pump on way out. Car has 51K on it and only gets driven 500-1000 miles a yr anymore.

It may be that in the past, someone put radiator sealer goop in your system. It seeps out of the system and dries just as you have described.
