I'm sure he's the kind of guy like my uncle is....oh he's a great mechanic and would be able to do such a project...but he's just the kind that can't finish things or just can't get to doing it...I'm sure you know what I mean.
Actually these pictures make it look like it's in a lot nice place than it really is!
This place is a real junkyard, and remember, this is minnesota, it will be covered in snow before you know it, this is NOT a happy home....Vettes belong on the street! Or at least in garages!
#@%^&!#%! There's my hardtop, and it looks like a BB to boot! If 69roadster sees this, he'll have a fourth :D Seriously, has anyone inquired? Everyone has a price, and I've seen worse...
Yeah,
there is a guy that lives about a 1/4 of a mile from me that has a purple 69 convertible. When I first saw it about 3 years ago it was a really nice and slick car, but now after sitting in his yard this whole time, no cover no nothing, it's starting to look weathered. I asked him about it one time and he said he is saving it for his grandson, who is about 6 now. That's cool, but doesn't he realize the kid is gonna have to rebuild if it's not taken care of till then. The worst thing is I know it is in running condition right now, since he moves it to mow his yard. That's the only action it see though.

Oh well, I guess it's his car to do with as he pleases.
With the price of convertible BB chrome bumpers what they are, a frame replacement seems like a fair trade to get one at the low bucks end. Heck, it might be OK!
In all seriousness.. Please inquire and give it a look see if you can. If it is a big block, I would be seriously interested. I don't live too far. (Illinois)
thanks for your troubles
Tubojet - You're right about the louvers; they're all closed up which may mean the car has a one-piece glass front end. It's definitely not stock looking. Can't tell by the pics if there are hood 'lines' or not.
427V8 - It'd be interesting to know if it is a BB car and if the original engine is under there; could be a tri-power! I say ask him if he's sellin and if you can look at it; talk is cheap.
That's a very depressing photo :cry . It would be different if it was all smashed up and beyond repair but it seems like a nice piece for a restoration (depending on the frame condition).
wow, I think that car most deffinately does have potential based on the two pictures. I think if someone spent the $$$ to restore it, they'd have a real nice car.
its important to remember that almost every part on a corvette can be replaced. Bad frame....can be replaced....busted body parts...can be replaced....and we all know the little peices can be replaced...The bird cage is the only thing I have not seen a replacement for...but that can be gotten at a junk yard...What Im getting at is every corvette has potential, it just depends on how much time/effort someone is willing to put into it.
