Default Adhesive question

I am going to replace the "crossed flag" emblem on my L-82 valve cover. What's a good high temp adhesive to use?

I think a good epoxy would do the trick. You can get many different variations. I prefer clear, and the five minute epoxy will let you take your time to mix, apply, and set the emblem before it hardens.

If that part was originally 'glued' on, the new part should be adhesive backed or come with an appropriate adhesive. If it doesn't, I wouldn't buy it.

I put mine on with double sided tape (3M). That was in 2001. They are still on the car.

after all, silcone is an "adhesive" and can be removed if necessary. I have always been amazed at what good ol' silcone will glue and hold permanently.

You can also buy the black double sided adhesive that looks like 1/8" rubber. Go to a paint supply store to see what they have.

Gorilla Snot works great (3M Weatherstrip Adhesive). I glued the emblem on a C4 valve cover with it once, and it stayed put with no problem. You can get it in black, too.
