Still on my '69 Camaro. I posted the other day about a drain on my battery when car was off. Suspect was the voltage regulator (external). I changed it but now when I turn the car off the generator light comes on and I still have power inside the car (radio). Faulty new regulator or maybe my ignition switch. Completely different symptom now. Hmmm!! Need some ideas!

Suppose it could be ignition switch but seems a bit coincidental that new symptom arrived upon changing out regulator. If I'm correct, the regulator should not be getting any power at all when the ignition is in the off position. Someone else will chime in.

So let me get this straight... when the car is OFF your radio still has power? Looks like you found your battery drain lol. Perhaps a previous owner has done some creative wiring, like some things are wired directly to the battery instead of being wired to the "hot in run" power.

You know the electrical constacts part of your ign switch is on top of the steering column, and it can be slid back and forth to index it correctly with the mechanics of the switch up top.....

wonder if something there slipped, or what???
