Serpentine System
Thanks guys. I'm becoming more convinced that the electric fan route maybe the simplest and easiest solution. I really appreciate the feedback. Since I need to replace the alternator and a/c compressor anyway, it makes sense to consider the expense of the GMPP or March system. Just replacing stock brackets is crazy expensive, which makes the serpentine system more practical. Do the electric fans need to get tied into the wiring harness or directly into a spare fuse socket? J

You might want to check out the Vintage Air Frontrunner System. Don't know if the Big Block will fit but I have the Smallblock version in my 80. Exspensive but all CNC machined from Billet. You will need to switch to a GM Type II PS Pump and will probably have to go to a remote resavor for it. If you are useing a Rack and Pinion Steering then You will want a reduced capacity Gen II.Front Crank Pulley is Very Close to the Frame I thought I was going to have to Cut but I didn't it was all a straight bolt in. This is one of the Few aftermarket parts that I thought would take forever to make it work and it just bolted in a day. Once in with an Electric Fan setup You will wonder what to do with all the new room You gained.
Doing this conversion and upgrade on my 78 currently and have run across a couple questions.
My set up is from a truck, there was a mention of a delete pulley for the ac and smog pump. Any reference or links to them?
Next question is regarding the ac, when I am ready to retrofit is there input on getting lines made that will work with the newer ac pump?
Thanks in advance, this thread is very helpful!
