Could it be the check valve?

i know there have been many previous posts with the same problem i have, headlights come up when the car is turned on. My headlights stay up though.All hoses are new, and so is the check valve, which has seemed to be the culprit with the other members. Before i replaced the seal in the driver side actuator, the passenger side worked fine. It came up and down with the switch as long is i blocked off the drivers side, but now they both come up right away. Any ideas?

If you connected the hoses via the diagram in the AIM, it's wrong. Reverse the two hoses at the headlamp switch.

The blue striped hose goes on the front nipple of the headlight switch and the black hose on the rear nipple.

Yes, sounds like the vacuum hoses are reversed to me too. If that doesn't do it check the connections at the headlight vacuum relays to make sure the right hose is on the right port. If memory serves the hoses have colored stripes and they match up to colored dots next to, or under each vacuum port on the relays.

I think the same engineer that designed the mounting configuration for the brake booster must have been in charge of designing the vacuum lines too. Not GMs finest effort and a real challenge to troubleshoot.
