Lars is the best!
Fix is not the word for it! It came, I bolted it on, and it ran perfectly:) . Idle, fast idle every thing. After de-bubbaizing my gas pedal (yes the gas pedal) thats a story for another post. The car ran better and faster than with the new carb! Lars followed up and even gave me a call to make sure everything was OK!
GREAT JOB LARS!
There are still people left in the world that do what they say they will do for a reasonable price!

That's really great to hear!! I sure get a kick out of it when we can get the old original parts to run better than the new, aftermarket, repro stuff. And great job identifying the Bubba-mods on the car and getting things set up right. Is this fun, or what??
To give everyone the story on this, Mick's carb was pretty typical of these older Q-Jets that have been modified by everybody over the years. After a while, it gets tough to figure out what right, wrong, and what's just screwed up. Here is what I found on his carb, and this stuff is pretty typical of these older carbs:
The Float level was set at .563", should be 1/4"
The Secondary Lockout Lever was Missing
The Wrong Float was installed
The Secondaries were adjusted wrong, opening prematurely in relationship to the primaries.
The primary throttle plates didn't open fully
The primary throttle shaft bores were worn out and needed bushings
Wrong primary metering rods installed
The Secondary Rod Height was too high, pulling the rods too far out of the metering plates
The Choke pulloff was set too rich
The Ported Vacuum Port tube was missing, causing a vacuum leak
The Primary emulsion tubes had come loose and were fallen out
Air horn was warped and causing a fuel leak at the bowl gasket.
Once all these items were corrected and brough back to the original spec, the carb ran really well. It's fun to save these original ones from the scrapheap, isn't it?
Great job, Mick. Hope you have lots of fun with the car!!
