Default torque numbers

what are the correct torque to for intake manifold bolts and header bolts? also with heater core hoses one is running from water pump. I have a diagram that show the other running from Manifold but does not specify that would not be the exhast manifold right? so where?

Any water in your exhaust manifold?

I would say you need a repair manual for torque values. About 35# should be about right for those.

don't think there is water in exhast manifold but I am from Arkansas. I guess I will look on the old engine to figure it out the new engine has so much chrome that it blinds me when I look too close

I assume you can open it up or use one on the water pump.

Heater hose routing should be: Top hose from heater core goes to the water pump. Bottom hose from heater core goes to intake manifold, near the thermostat housing. Coolant flow goes from the intake manifold through heater core and back to the intake side of the pump. Consider it in parallel with the radiator.

Obtain a heater hose nipple, s/b 1/2 inch, remove a plug near the thermostat housing and install the nipple for the heater hose.

Intake manifold torque = 30 ft. lbs.
Exhaust manifold bolt torque = 20 ft. lbs. Footnote reads "Inside bolts on 302-307-350 engines 30 ft. lbs."

Per 1969 factory chassis service manual.

Hope this helps,
Pete

That would be the one that feeds the heater core. They came from the factory with a 5/8 hose feeding the heater core and a 3/4 hose returning to the suction side of the water pump.
