Default Help with 1970 engine code
Guys

I am going to be looking at a 70 convertible with a what looks like a stock 454 hood that is for sale. What engine block code numbers should I be looking for if it is a numbers matching or original engine? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming it is a 454 big block, engine suffixes CGW= Hi perf 4 bbl and TH400, CZU= Hi perf and 4 bbl, CZL= HD and 4 BBL, CZN= HD and 4 BBL and TH400, CRI= Hi Perf and 4 BBL and TI.

In addition to Scott's info, you can also check that the serial number derivative is on the engine pad, too.
